Things to See & Do:
- Tour the Statehouse-you can stroll through the capitol building on your own, or take one of the free daily tours. The 22-year-long restoration of this Greek Revival building was completed in 1996.
- The Columbus Museum of Art has a notable collection of American and European modern art from the late 19th and early 20th centuries, as well as remarkable collections of art by Columbus natives. The museum has free admission on Sundays.
- Enjoy Columbus's many Metro Parks. Hike a trail (or a pet trail!), sign up for one of their many events, learn more about nature, or just enjoy the beautiful scenery.
- Short North Gallery Hop: On the first Saturday evening of each month, the gallery district welcomes thousands of visitors for art, food, shopping, music, dancing, street performers, and more.
- Upper Arlington, in the northwest part of the Columbus metropolitan area, has many beautiful, historic mansions. The Upper Arlington Historic District (also called "Old Arlington") is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.

The Ohio State University, right in the heart of the city, has lots to interest student visitors. Check out the campus and vicinity:
- Lennox Town Center has major stores, theaters, and restaurants.
- Buckeye Hall of Fame Café, just down the street from the Lennox Town Center, has tasty food, fun games, and OSU memorabilia.
- Take the number 8 bus to Crew Stadium for a soccer game.
- The Wexner Center for the Arts has contemporary visual, film, and performing arts in their landmark building.
- The Arena District is called the Columbus "cool zone". It's lively atmosphere, multi-ethnic restaurants, and entertainment bring in thousands of visitors every year.
Nightlife:
- Gadfly Café on N. High St. is a nightclub designed for teens ("No one over 19 is admitted without a teenager"). Open Friday and Saturday nights, with improve, music, and comedy.
- Catch a show-anything from classical music to modern dance-at the beautifully restored Ohio Theatre.

Cars are the usual way of getting around Columbus. You can also take the bus or ride your bike (try the Clintonville to Downtown bike route or the Alum Creek/I-670 Trail).
